Balance-sensing controller is one of the important projects of our customer that had very high-demanding requirements listed below:
- Maximum load: 200 kg
- Number of cycle for maximum load applied without failure: 1 million times
- The original design and dimension given must not be changed.
Considering the situation that the players who were obese to play on the Balance-sensing controller, the load applied on the Balance-sensing controller could be more than 120 kg that could result in damage on the controller, and even injury of the players. Therefore, the strength and reliability of the controller housing were the most concern on this issue. The material and internal mechanical structure of the housing became the key factors.
In term of material, metal had high strength, but its expensive price would raise the unit cost of the controller; on the other hand, ABS plastic material had a relatively affordable price, but its strength might not be able to achieve the load requirement.
Finally, our professional team found out solution to solve this issue through their great effort. The ABS plastic material was taken through a special treatment before the plastic injection formation that increased the strength of the ABS material by 50%. Moreover, the internal mechanical structure was improved by re-disturbing and adding more ribs inside the housing with leaving enough space for the circuit board.
Through our professional knowledge of the material and our strong experience on product design, we succeeded to solve a difficult mechanics challenge for our customer, and this product also reached a very amazing sale in the market.
